Sustainable Living in Fairview
Sustainable Fairview Associates won the bid to transform a 275-acre, century-old state property in south Salem into a sustainable development, a village supporting 1700 homes. The Village Center – within minutes by foot or bicycle from most everyone’s front porch – will have a touch of history as well as an assortment of small businesses, retail shops, schools, places of worship, a library and acres of green space to meet and play. While Fairview will feel like a village, in the old fashioned sense, it will have all the amenities of an urban neighborhood. Residents will have ready access to many of their daily needs, including jobs, without having to use the car. RESIDING AT FAIRVIEW Sustainable means inclusive, so the mix of homes will reflect how people live. Smaller floor plans for working singles and seniors. Row homes, where living close-in means friendly, but with your own private yard.
